Project overview
Versus is a competition-based social networking platform built to connect friends through shared challenges and competition. The client needed to build and launch the mobile app, then continue developing it after launch. They were looking for a partner who could move quickly, integrate closely with their internal workflows, and deliver the MVP on time.
The problem
Versus needed to move from product idea to a launch-ready mobile app. The team needed support not only in building the first version of the product, but also in maintaining delivery speed and continuing development after launch.
The main needs were:
- Build and launch the mobile application.
- Deliver an MVP with the core social and competition features.
- Prepare beta versions for testing before release.
- Ship final versions for both iOS and Android.
- Work as an extension of the client team during delivery.
- Continue building the app after launch.
The solution
We worked with Versus as a mobile product delivery partner, focusing on a fast MVP build and close operational collaboration with the client team.
MVP built around core product flows
We designed and developed the MVP of the app with the core elements needed for launch: social features, an invite process, a scoring system, onboarding, and custom design. This addressed the client’s goal of getting the first usable version of the product into users’ hands.
Beta delivery before release
We delivered beta versions of the app to support testing before the final release. This gave the client working builds to review and validate during the delivery process.
iOS and Android release
We delivered the final versions of the mobile app for both iOS and Android. This matched the client’s requirement to launch the product across both platforms.
Seamless collaboration with the client team
We integrated into the client’s systems, including Discord, Slack, and ClickUp, and worked as an extension of their team. This supported fast communication, proactive delivery, and close day-to-day collaboration.
"Most impressed by the quality and speed of the work as well as their commitment to good customer service and relationship.
Business benefits
Faster path to launch
The client identified time to launch as the main measurable outcome from the project. The MVP, beta versions, and final iOS and Android apps were all delivered within the engagement period from March to May 2025.
On-time delivery across the MVP scope
According to the client, everything was delivered on time or ahead of time. This applied to the core MVP scope, including social features, onboarding, invite flows, scoring, beta builds, and the final app releases.
Delivery model that fit the client team
The client said we integrated into their systems and worked like an extension of the team. This close collaboration model supported the project's speed and ongoing development after launch.
Further development
The collaboration continued after launch. According to the client, USEO continues to work with Versus post-launch and the client plans to keep building the product with the team.
Conclusion
We designed and developed the MVP of the Versus mobile app, covering the key product flows needed for launch and delivering beta versions as well as final iOS and Android releases.
The result was a launch-ready product delivered on time, with a collaboration model strong enough for the client to continue working with USEO after launch.
